Currently, our stallion Halhelooya is the heart and soul of our Sporthorse and Nez Perce breeding program. He is our ideal Akhaloosa, a tall, elegant, exotic, spotted athlete. At 16H, he strongly maintains the dry Akhal-Teke type while showing the influence of his Appaloosa ancestors in his mild, pleasant temperament, somewhat compact build, and traditional Appaloosa coloring.
Rock hard and without an ounce of excess fat (as is typical of Akhal-Tekes), he has the long, slow-twitch muscling of an endurance racer, thin skin for excellent cooling and recovery times, and the hard feet and good bone (8” cannon) necessary to withstand miles of hard riding. His back is perfectly shaped for a saddle and his gait is an efficient, flat, forward-moving glide that makes him a joy to ride.
Halhelooya is a registered Nez Perce stallion, bred in 1999 by the Nez Perce Tribe of Lapwai, Idaho, as well as a registered Akhal-Teke Sporthorse and Appaloosa Sporthorse. His Akhal-Teke sire Pazyryck was a metallic palomino of the Skak line, and his dam was a large, hunter-style, black ApHC registered Appaloosa mare with a blanket and spots carrying the bloodlines of modern champions like Stud Spider, and Boston Mac, and foundation greats including Bright Eyes Brother, Peavy Bimbo, Triple Chick and Three Bars and more. Extended Pedigree. Halhelooya's Akhal-Teke ancestors include the elegant Fakirpelvan (warm-blood looking) and Gelishikli (known for excellent gaits which lend themselves well to performance in classical sport), as well as Kir-Sakar (passes on sabino gene, good croup, good size, substance and bone, and exceptionally smooth gaits).
While only in training as an endurance racer, Halhelooya is very fast, athletic and versatile and would be suitable for eventing, jumping or dressage or more.
BREEDING INFORMATION - Currently Halhelooya is only standing to a small group of select outside mares by live cover. His introductory stud fee for 2007 is $500.00. Please contact us for more information if you are interested in having Halhelooya add elegance to your mare.
OFFSPRING - Halhelooya was only been lightly bred until 2006. Until that time he produced foals stamped with his elegant conformation and light build, athleticism, and speed and their dam’s coloring. He has produced gaited foals from gaited mares and Appaloosa characteristics with non-colored mares. |
